2013 Reflection

This is my Reflection about what we did this year and my level,So I hope you enjoy reading my writing and Please leave me a comment ,Thank you.

 Reading Reading is one of my favourite subject because last year I was reading on level 23 and on this year I am now reading on level 27.I have learnt so much words and what the words mean. Next year my goal is to read on level 31. 

 Writing Writing is a bit hard because sometimes we have to write 3 , 4, 5, 6, paragraphs . When we go on trips we have to write about where we went and explain what we did. For writing I am on AT which is fantastic. For wirting My goal next year is to be on level 10. 

 Maths Maths is my Favourite subject because it was different from last year. Last year I was in Spheres which is the lowest group in my maths class but this year I have changed a lot. I am learning lots of different strategies . At Maths we use Maths whizz and Xramaths to help us learn our addition and subtractions and other things. For Maths I am on stage 7 which is good. My Goal for next year is to be on stage 8. 

 Inquiry Inquiry is what we do every year.Every Term we change our topic.On Term One our Inquiry was The Pt England way,On Term two we did The Pt England Investigation,our topic for term three was Life’s a stage and we had to learn about Nursery Rhymes and Fables and ON term for we are learning about Farming.What I like about Inquiry is that we can do activities and learn things that we don’t know. 



 Sports Sports is my favourite thing to do at school because we can play ,Football,Touch,Rippa Rugby,Netball,Triathlon , Cricket and Rugby League . But What I like the most is Rugby Union Because Can tackle and Run with the ball.This year for Rugby We were the Champions and we got to go to Eden park to watch the game of Canterbury’s against Auckland.Next Year I am going to signed up many sports. Conclusion What I like about this year is that I made lots of new friends.In Term 1 I was so excited because had Fiafia at the end of Term 1.Next Year I hope that I will do good in school and make more friends.I hope 2014 will be the same as this year.

Going to Ambury farm

This is my writing about how we went to Ambury farm for our trip, it was on Tuesday. So have a look and I hope you enjoy . Please leave me a comment,Thank you.

“Yay” it was it was trip day today and we were going to Ambury farm. As Mr Burt was doing the prayer I was thinking if we are going to ride horses on the farm. It took us 30 minutes by bus to get there. When we got out of the bus it was raining so we waited under the shed for it to stop.

Miss Ouano went to check if there was anyone at the back,we ate our morning tea then we went into the barn. Debbie was explaining to us what we were going to do and what we were going to play. As soon as we finished playing the matching game we got into two groups. In our group was  room 13 and some of room eighteen.  

We went straight in the shearing shed which is where they shear the sheep for wool. Our teacher was Janine. She let us go in and when I walked inside it  was smelly, the air was muggy and stuffy. I felt like I was going to spew and I couldn’t even breath. Janine showed us the sheeps wool and how they shear the sheep. Janine gave us the dirty wool and said “feel it ,smell it, and don’t forget to put it on your skin”. Ashley gave to me and when I touched it I threw it away. After that we swapped with the other class. Man I never want to go back in there.

In the milking shed Debbie showed us the equipment and what she was going to do . She went out and got a giant cow. Debbie milked her. The she let us touch the cow and find out what her name was. I went and looked around and on the the was a little yellow paper with number 136 on it. I called out number 136 but Debbie said that we were wrong ,it was Mrs T .

After that we split up into three groups and we went different ways. Miss Lavakula’s   group  went to the beach , “How lucky” . Janine and our group went to feed some animals and those animals were ,Cows ,Pigs, Sheep,lambs goats, and Chickens . For feeding animals my favourite was Cow , Chickens , Goats , and sheeps. The best is the goats because one goat was call Mr big because he was enormous , it always licks my hand , it was ticklish and I also got to touch his beard.

It was an awesome day and that was my second time at Ambury farm, my first time at Ambury farm was when we came with my family for holiday. What I hate about the farm is the smell and the poos on the grass ,I tried not to step on it.

Missing the bus

Hi my name is Taunese and I am going to tell you a story about a Girl and her Mum always missing the bus.Every day they always miss the bus.So one day they got up the bus but the bus went away so they chased the bus until it went close to the traffic light.”I have an idea,that bus will stop at the traffic light and we will catch up” said Mum “Great idea” mum said Emma.But the light was green and the bus still went so they walked all the way to school.When they got to school

mum said “for now on we should walk all the way so that we can save our money and when it’s raining lets catch the bus” said Mum .And so they walked everyday to school.

The moral of the story is it good to exercise and never catch the bus because you will miss it only if you are on time.

Athletics 2013

It was Athletics day and the sun was shining bright,but at the end it was raining.This is a   story of me writing about Athletics day.So have a look and please leave me a comment thank you.

On Friday we had Athletics day and I was Buzz of excitement.It was a perfect day for us to do Athletics.We four house colours and their name are Matatua which is green,the second house colour is Te Awara which is Red,the third house colour is Tainui which is Blue, the last house colour is Takitimu which is the best out of all of them and the colour is Yellow .

When the bell went all of the classes had to line up in their group age and wait for Mr Burt to tell them what to do.After Mr Burt did the Prayer the year 5 girls went withs us to our first activity which is Sprints.

Mr Burt told that we are doing 75m first and then 100m,on 75m I came first and then when it the real one I came second to last because I slipped,But on 100m I did not make it.Our next activity was Discus and I went straight to number 3 and stayed there for a long time until Liz made me get out at the last part but anyway I had another turn.Our third activity was Javelin and our teacher was Mr Barks.We had to do 7 activities and that was Sprints,Discus,Javelin,Tiger war, Skipping rope,Shot put and High jump.On High jump we didn't get to High jump because it was raining so Mrs King cancelled it.

But any ways we get to finish High jump on Monday at Lunch time.I had so much fun at Athletics.I can’t wait till next year.                                                                

Manaiakalani Film Festival 2013

On Wednesday we went to Sylvia Park for Film Festival.We left after Morning tea.I was so excited to see those wonderful movies.As we were in the bus I was sitting with my two buddies,their names were Katareina and Elizabeth.While we were in the bus our teacher told us if we want to play singing competition against the boys so we played.

After we Played singing competition we arrived at Sylvia Park,Sylvia Park was so massive and there were over one hundred stores.When we walked inside we were so excited because we got to sit on the couches.In front of us was a big screen.Mr Burt told us it was called extreme screen.After Mr Burt said his speech we got to see 14 movies.My favourite movie was room 15’s because it was a movie about showing Manners and respect.Then we went back to school and it was Lunch time.

It was so fun at Sylvia Park,man I can’t wait till next year for Manaiakalani film festival 2014.

On Wednesday our cricket team went to the Auckland Champion tournament at Eden park.We had 7 games against other schools.It was kind of sad because we didn't win many games but I still had fun because I was away from school and we didn't have to do any work.As we were playing against the other schools the weather was so weird because the sky was grey and it was spitting and we were so cold, but we lied to our coach because they were going to cancelle the game because the grass  was slippery.I hope we can make it to the champion next year,man it was so fun.

We should have School Every day

I think that school should be Monday to Friday because children need more learning from the teachers,because children that are year 5 should be on stage 6 .The more teachers teach kids the more they get xtra better and the more they get paid ,kids need more learn from teachers because when they grow up and go to college they are suppose to know the things that they learnt in intermediate and junior.Children likes playing with there friends at school but they don’t like playing at home because they don’t a big space to play and they don’t have things to play with .Children like to play sports but they don’t have time to play sports with their friends because they have to go home early.

 

In New Zealand we should go to school to spend time with our teachers and friends.If we have school on Monday to Thursday then we don’t have time to learn at school and won’t able to play with friends,When we have sports we have to practise every day but we don’t have much time to practise because the week is too fast.

I think children and teachers need to be healthy because when they come to school will be smart because they eat healthy food.

Immersion Assembly

It is the beginning of term 4 and the Point England student are in the hall waiting for the immersion assembly to start.

After Mr Burt did his speech he called out team one,team one just had a video of them wearing fox mask and a little boy chasing them.After team one’s movie it was time for team two,Mrs Glaze,Mrs   and Mrs She was standing in front of the stage wearing different clothes.Mrs Glaze asked the children what she was wearing but she was wearing Christmas clothes.What I did not like is that they did not put cool movies and hip hop dance and cool songs but what I like out of all of them was when Miss Walters and Noah ate lots of pancake.

My Wonderful Holiday

This is my holiday writing that I wrote all by myself. It is about my rugby team, my brother and I going to Eden Park to watch the Auckland vs Canterbury game. I hope you enjoy reading it and  please leave me a comment .
On Saturday my rugby team and my brother and I went to Eden Park to watch the game of Auckland against Canterbury.

When we arrived  at Eden Park we waited outside so that we can get sorted,while I was waiting I was so excited to get in,as we went  in some teenagers were standing outside selling Auckland flags so all of us had 2 each and some had 3.When we sat down my brother gave me a packet of sour lollies and asked me what I want to eat, I answered by saying ,hot chips,L & P and another packet of sour lollies so he went and buyed it.The game started and we were cheering and screaming.When Auckland scored a try we waved our flags and shouted.Auckland won the game and we had to go,the game finished at 9.00 and when we came back at about 9.30.

Man I wish I can go to Eden Park again because it is fun and amazing.My Cricket team is going to Eden Park to play against the other school the other time our cricket team was the champion.

Miss Lavakula's Birthday

Today is Miss Lavakula's Birthday and we are celebrating here 33th birthiday. We are having so much fun because we are making party hats and after we cleaned up we sat down on the mat and Miss Lavakula called up our names to get  our plate of chop sue and rice.After I finished my Chop sue I cleaned my plate and went to get my cupcake,the chocolate cupcake had cream and sprinkles and it was so sweat.So when you see Miss Lavakula today say Happy Birthday.

The Last story of Esther

Today in the afternoon,Mrs Clark and Miss Hare came into our class,Mrs Clark continued the story of Esther.In Esther's story Haman the priminister and King Xerxes  went to Esther's party,King Xerxes wanted to know what Queen Esther wanted,Queen Esther told King Xerxes and Haman to come back to another party,and that party was tomorrow at night time and then she will tell King Xerxes what she wants.King Xerxes and Haman replied that they would love to come back to her party,Mordecai was sitting outside the room and while Haman walked out Mordecai did not bell down to  Haman . Haman was so angry and cross that Mordeccai didn't bell down to him.And that was the end of the story.

Esther 2

Today in C.R.E Miss Clark and Miss Hare came into our class with costumes to tell the of Queen Esther and King Xerxes.Queen Esther heard that  Mordecai was sad,so she sent a servant to tell Mordecai why is he sad.Mordecai wrote a message on a paper and sent the servant to take the paper to Queen Esther. Queen Esther knew why Mordecai was sad ,so Queen Esther and all the Dues  did a fasten for 3 days,after the 3 days Queen Esther went to see King Xerxes,Queen Esther had 2 following parties at night time,so she invited Haman and King Xerxes,and that was the end of part 3.

Aladdin and the Genie

This story is about Aladdin and the magic genie,As you can see I have retold the story with my own words, and here is a picture of Aladdin and the genie.

Once upon a time there lived a young boy called Aladdin. He lived with his mother in a small village in China.  Aladdin’s father died when he was a little cheeky kid. They were poor, had no money and nothing to eat.

One day Aladdin went for a walk, when suddenly a strange man came up to Aladdin and said “Aladdin I finally found you, I am your father’s long lost brother Hassan.” After that Aladdin and Hassan went to Aladdin’s house .Aladdin told his mother that the strange man was his uncle, Aladdin’s mother was so confused and she said that his father didn’t have any brothers or sisters. When Aladdin’s mother had finished talking Hassan said “I have an idea”. “Lets have dinner and we will talk it through.” Hassan was very rich, he gave  Aladdin some money to go buy some things for dinner. Hassan stayed with them for a while and bought them new clothes and filled their  cupboards with food.

Papaka and Koura

I have read a story called Papaka and Koura,they both wanted to be shiny and beautiful.Here is a paragraph of me retelling the story with my own words,also their are pictures of Papaka and Koura,

I have read a story called Papaka and Koura,it is a story about the crayfish and the crab,they both wanted their shells shiny and sparkly.Papaka and Koura saw the butterflies flying around the sky.Papaka called out to them and said my “friends ,how did you turn your wings into shiny wing” , “we fly through the rainbow and we turned into the seven colours”,the butterflies replied.Koura said,”well we can’t do that”.The butterflies went away.A little while Koura saw the glitter birds,the birds were sparkle and the wing were colourful,Koura called out to the birds, “my friends,how did your wings turn so bright”,well we zoomed  into the sky and something happened,our wings turned bright and shiny,well we can’t do that.Papaka and Koura went under the water,the Butterflies and the birds followed,for a little while Papaka and Koura came out of the water,the birds were so amazed and so was the butterflies,the birds asked Papaka and Koura how they got their shells bright,then the Papaka replied,we went under the water,the butterflies said well we can’t do that at all.The moral of the story is to like the you are and don't feel like you are ugly because you'll never know.

The story of King Xerxes and Queen Esther

Today in C.R.E we learned more about the story of King Xerxes,Queen Esther and,Mordeccai,

One day their were two guards standing in front of the palace,Modeccai was standing near the two guards,then he saw the guards whispering to each other,their plan was to kill the king.Then Mordeccai told Esther that the king was going to get king killed.

On Monday we stood in front of the whole class and shared our debate. Our group got split up into two groups, the groups were called for and against. A debate means a form of an argument. The statement was, Point England School should wear uniform to school. I was in group against and we said yes Point England School should wear school uniform .I was the third speaker and one of my ideas was that Point England should wear school uniform to school because when we go on a trip or somewhere else,people will recognise which school we are from because our uniform.While the other kids said there debate I felt so scared and shy.

Esther

Today in C.R.E Mrs Clark told us a story about Esther and King Xerxes.King Xerxes had a queen called Vashti ,King Xerxes told her to come where he but queen Vashti wouldn't listen so she got banished.Then King Xerxes had a beauty contest.One of the most beautiful women in the contest was Esther,she lived with her cousin's family,her parents past the way when she was little.Esther had a meeting with King Xerxes,then King Xerxes thought that she is the real queen,because she is beautiful and caring.So she became the queen.

We are learning to be and do the best that we can do. We can do this by listening to each other ,helping, and the showing respect to everyone.

Is it easy to say sorry?

Today we learned about a story in the bible .It was about Onesimus,Philemon and Paul . Onesimus stole from Philemon on behalf of Onesimus . Onesimus returned back to Colossae and said sorry.

I think that it's easy to say sorry because they can forgive you for you did.

Our reading group has been working on nursery rhymes,our one is different because we are trying to figure out why Georgie Porgie should Kissed girls,Here is my Paragraph with Audio-boo. First of all I think Georgie Porgie should have not kissed the girls because he already had a wife.I think that the girls cried because Georgie porgie kissed them and made them angry . Georgie porgie wanted the queen of France to be jealous. He should not have kissed the girls because he was so smelly and he would make them smelly too. Maybe the girls cried because they saw a handsome guy kissing them. Georgie Porgie should have kissed the girls because he had no friends and he wanted people to like him. Georgie Porgie should have kissed the girls because he was practicing kissing girls for his wedding day too and he wanted it to be perfect. I think Georgie Porgie should have kissed the girls because he was lonely and had nothing else to do.

Loving and Caring

Today in C.R.E we leaned about showing love to everyone even when it's hard.We learned and sang a song today too.I find it hard to love people when they are not treating me the right,But I find it easy to love people when they are helping me and being kind to me.

We are learning about how to be a Cyber Smart,

This story is about a girl named Goldilocks that owned a house in the middle of the forest but she went somewhere,there were three bears called Pa bear,Ma bear And baa,baa bear,they were going for a walk in the forest,then they saw a big white house in the middle of the forest.Then they went in the house,first baa,baa bear went to a little bowl of porridge, “mmmmm yummy”, said baa,baa bear.Then they went to three chairs.Ma  bear sat on the first chair. “this chair too big” ,she said,Pa bear went to the second chair, “too little” ,said Pa bear,but baa,baa bear was sitting on the couch watching T.V, “that not how the story goes” said Pa bear. “whoosh” the door opened,Goldilocks came in the house, “WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE” she said.

Holly And The Big Fat Green Frog

This is a story about a girl that kissed a frog and turned it in to a ugly prince.Here is a photo and a story

One night there was a little girl called Holly ,she was sitting in her bed listening to her mother reading a story called The Princess And The Frog, “the princess kissed the frog and the frog turned into a handsome prince and they lived happily ever  after”, said Holly’s mother, “revolting” said Holly.The next day it was raining,then it stopped,Holly went out to play,when she got to the sandpit she saw a big fat green frog in the middle of the sandpit.Holly tried to get rid of the frog but the frog still sat in the sandpit and stared at Holly.So Holly decided to kissed the frog and the frog turned into a ugly prince,then  Holly kissed the prince again,then it turned back to a frog.

Then they thought about it and finally they had an agreement.

It is Football again

It is football again how amazing?

On Thursday the excited Room 13  had football in the hall again,because the field was muddy and it was a little bit wet on the court and cold.Our coach Ben made us stand beside the wall,then he chose one girl and two boys,the taggers was Katareina ,Jalen, and Benjamin,we were playing octopus .Ben called out accessory pink socks ,breslips and octopus and the kids has to run to the other side.

After octopus we had a trial that was nearly the same as octopus but Ben told us to get into pairs and my partner was Elizabeth,my partner Elizabeth went to the middle and I was next to the stage.Ben told the people in the middle to spin clockwise then he told us to start dribbling,my partner has to take the ball of me.then it was her turn, it was so hard to take the ball of my partner because she was kicking the ball too hard so that the ball can get to the other side easily.

At last  we had a game of football.But we had to go to class,I wish we can stay for a long time and I had a good time at football.

This was an old story that happend in Rotorua in a long time ago.here is a story of it and two pictures.Long long time ago there was a beautiful lady called Hinemoa,all of the man wanted to meet her but Hinemoa’s dad didn’t want her to marry any of the man that came to see her.One day their was a special meeting,there was a warrior and his family that live in Mokoia Island,Mokoia Island is across the river from Hinemoa’s village.One night Hinemoa and Tutanekai had a plan to meet up,in the Hinemoa goes on a waka or swim to Mokoia Island,and Tutanekai plays his flute.After all Hinemoa and Tutanekai was together.

Jack the honest kid

This is about a story that a kid took a juice with out letting the teacher know but returned it.

Once upon a time there was a boy named Jack and his friend Luke,they went to the same school.One day there was free juice at their school,Luke grabbed two juice and said to  Jack “do you want some free juice” .Jack saw the other kids taking two juice,but he only took one juice.Luke and Jack went at the back of their class and drinked their juice but Jack didn’t drink his juice because his stomach was squirmy.At lunch time Jack tried to put his juice in his bag but he can’t because his teacher Mr Renata was standing at the doorway,so he walked slowly up to Mr Renata and gave the juice back and explained what happen.When it was class time Mrs strong was in their class saying “does anyone know about the juice”, Mr Renata was so angry,he said “one boy has already owned up, then Luke was still thing if it was free juice.

The moral of the story is to be honest and ask before you take something.

My Wonderful story about Football

This is my football story that we played in the hall, Please leave me a comment.

On a wet morning I was so excited because we were going to the hall for Football,we had Football in the hall because it was muddy and wet on the field. Some of us were cold because in the hall it was freezing cold,then Miss Lavakula made us run around on the red line.After that we played Octopus.Then we sat and listened to our coach named Ben.

He told us to get into groups of 4, in my group was Jessica,Promise, and Shelford. We had some skills and that was passing and juggling,our group did passing.We had to pass the ball to each other,we had to pass the ball by kicking it with our feet.

Then we had a game playing against the other team,we were the  yellow bib.Our first game that we played was the green bib,The green bib lost against us by 1 point.Then we played our final game but we lost.That was so cool.

Rugby League

On a sunny morning room 13 went to the court for Rugby League.Our coach for Rugby League is James.First we warmed up. First we warmed up by playing Benji says and when James says something like run around we have to copy him and we are not allowed to go out the red cones.The next game we played was 10 passes,if the other team makes 10 passes we have to do 5 or 10 push ups and we get into groups and i was in the blue team.The third game that we played was goose,we have to practice our passing,we have to make a circle and one person has to run around the circle and the kids that in the circle has to beat the person that running around by passing it fast.The fourth game is called passback,we have to go at the back of the other person that in front .Then the person that in front has to run with the ball and the person that at the back has to run with the person and then that person has to pass the ball to the person at the back and the person that has the ball tries a score.The fifth skill that we played was called 1 on 2,the blue team has to a line on the other side and the red team has to make another line on the other side.The blue team has to pick a partner and they have to run with the ball and the red team has to defend.
